Florida bans warrantless use of drones against U.S. citizens

Sponsored by Sen. Negron (and Rep. Ritch Workman with concurrent bill H119), and signed into law in 2013 by Gov. Rick Scott, SB92 (the “Freedom From Unwarranted Surveillance Act”) prohibits any law enforcement agency from using armed surveillance drones to gather information on U.S. citizens without a search warrant signed by a judge authorizing such use, or without reasonable suspicion of imminent danger to life and property.
