Tennessee “Religious Viewpoints Antidiscrimination Act” to protect students’ religious freedom

Sponsored by Rep. Andy Holt and Sen. Kerry Roberts, HB3616 establishes the “Religious Viewpoints Antidiscrimination Act” requiring that a student’s voluntary expression of a religious viewpoint must be permitted in the same manner as any other viewpoint on an otherwise permissible subject. HB3616 provides legal protection for religious expression at school events, graduation ceremonies, school clubs, and class assignments without discrimination.
