    Pennsylvania to end compulsory unionism by becoming right-to-work state

    Sponsored by Rep. Metcalfe, Rapp, et al., and part of a package of bills (comprised of HB50,51,52,53), HB50 provides that employment shall not be conditional upon membership or nonmembership in a labor organization, nor upon the payment or nonpayment of money to a labor organization.

    Pennsylvania to make federal gun control enforcement a criminal offense

    Bill: HB357 (PDF)

    Sponsored by Reps. Metcalfe, Baker, Bloom, Brooks, et al, HB357 (Right to Bear Arms Protection Act) prohibits the enforcement of any new federal restriction, prohibition or registration requirement for firearms, magazines, and ammunition. The bill requires the state to intercede on behalf of Pennsylvania citizens against any federal attempt to register, ban or restrict the purchase or ownership of firearms and firearms accessories. Any state or federal agents who try to enforce any type of gun control restriction within state borders would face arrest and be charged with a felony.

    Sponsored by Rep Daryl Metcalfe and signed into law by Governor Tom Corbett, HB934 provides for requirements relating to voter identification; in preparation for and conduct of primaries and elections, further providing for manner of applying to vote, persons entitled to vote, voter’s certificates, entries to be made in district register, numbered lists of voters and challenges; in voting by qualified absentee electors, further providing for applications for official absentee ballots, for approval of application for absentee ballot, etc.
